The Holy Land Trip

8 days/ 7 nights.

Day 1: Arrival to Ben Gurion Airport. After short formalities, transfer to Netanya on the Sea for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Leave Netanya for Caesarea. This City and harbour were built 2000 years by Herod the Great and remained for next 500 years capitol of Palestine. Here are well preserved remains of both the Roman and Crusader periods. Here are visible old harbour, Roman Theater, in use again, Hipodrom,  Aquaducts, Byzantine street paved with mozaic and marble, Crusader motes. Leave Caesarea for Haifa built on Mt. Carmel with world famous Bahai Gardens, known for their beauty. Visit Carmelite church and monastery and their world center. This church is dedicated to Elijah the Prophet. Drive through the main streets of Haifa and after relatively short drive arrive to Nazareth. Visit Basilica of Annuciation, site where angel Gabriel announced to Virgin Mary the birth of Jesus. Proceed to the church of St. Joseph built over the site were the Holy Family lived. Before leaving Nazareth visit Church of St. Gabriel with the only spring in the city. Next is Cana of Galilee, the town of the First of Miracle. This is where Jesus upon request of his mother changed water into wine at the wedding. Arrive to Tiberias on the Lake of Galilee for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Take a boat ride on the Lake. Make a short stop for a prayer on the Lake. Arrive to Capernaum, the Second Town of Jesus. Town which became the center of Jesus preaching and activity. Within a short distance here are several Holy places. Start with Mensa Cristy, where Jesus after his resurrection joined his Disciples and appointed Peter as his successor for the second time. Few steps away is the Church of Multiplication of Loaves and Fishes and finally right above is the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus delivered Sermon on the Mount. From here is the most beautiful view over the Lake. Surround the Lake driving on the East shore to reach Jardenit, the outlet of the Jordan River and traditional site of Baptism. Here Baptism is possible. After a short rest proceed to Mt. Tabor, Mt. of Transfiguration. Climb by cars to the top of this mountain. Visit the Church and enjoy the scenery. Descend from Mt. Tabor to return to Tiberias for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Leave Tiberias for Jerusalem. Drive along the Jordan Valley and reach Jericho (temporarily closed). Visit the oldest City ever discovered. Proceed to Jerusalem. Arrive to hotel for a short rest. Drive to Ein Karem. Visit church of St. John with his birth place and church of Visitation, traditional site of summer home of Elisabeth, St. Johns mother and Zacharia his father, and place where Virgin Mary, Jesus mother visited her cousin. Return to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Full day visit of the Holy City. Start with Mt. of Olives and church Pater Noster, where Jesus taught his Disciples a prayer. Visit the site of Jesus Ascension. Descend by foot to Dominus Flevit, where Jesus cried over the future destiny of the City. Reach the church and garden of Gethsemane, the site of Agony. The Church is also know under the name of the Church of All Nations. In the garden of Gethsemane Jesus spent last hours before his arrest. Near by is "Grotto of Gethsemane", site of Jesus arrest as well the church of Mary's Tomb. Enter the Old City. First stop within Lions gate will be the church of St. Ann. This church was built by Crusaders in the 12 century. Just a short distance from here you reach Via Dolorosa, the Way of Suffering. Enter Antonia Tower, presently a monastery of Sister of Zion. Here Jesus spent in prison last hours before his condemnation was approved by Pontius Pilate. Proceed along the Stations of Via Dolorosa to reach the church of the Holy Sepulchre. Here you find the last five Stations of Via Dolorosa, Golgota and the Tomb of Jesus. After visiting the Church, visit the Wailing Wall, the holiest place for Jewish people, and remains of the Second Temple. Complete the visit of the Old City with Mount Zion. Here visit the Church of St. Peter in Galicantu, where Peter denied 3 times that he knew Jesus, Last Supper room, Church of Dormition, where Virgin Mary fell into eternal sleep and traditional Tomb of King David. Return to hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: In the morning drive to Bethlehem. Visit the Church of Nativity, birth place of Jesus and Shepherd's Fields. Return to Jerusalem for visit of the New City. Dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Free day in Jerusalem or optional tour to Masada and Dead Sea. Dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Transfer to Airport. End of services.
